Description

The Porch By Mary C. Lashbrook-parker I am a rectangular piece of concrete that is my family's porch I'm really not much more than a stoop, But I've seen it all over the years... the dirt, the gossip and the poop. I was so happy when my family moved in, a mom, a dad and two children. The feel of young children's feet on me stomping and running gave me great pleasure, and the mother yelling Get in or out!...that memory is still one I treasure. On weekends, the boy and his friends would play on me with their dirty Army men, While on school days I was quite a fuss...when a whole neighborhood of kids piled on me waiting for the bus. I can recall getting my picture taken with smiling guys and gals all in their prom best, And the mother pacing on me until the children came home and she could finally rest. On cool Spring nights the Dad would sit on me in a lawn chair to relax, While the neighbors would stop by to give him the neighborhood gossip and the facts. I remember the stolen goodnight kisses as I looked on, And the time the young missus fell off of me when she was in a hurry to get gone. The addition of a new Scottie puppy brought happiness to my troop, But I was not so happy when she did the unthinkable on me...she pooped! And though the years have not been kind to me for I am pitted and scarred, I know that within each member of my family a piece of my memories live in their hearts. GodBless and Blessed Be! The house, patio furniture and light a freebie here at Renderosity.

Lovely scene Marlene, sure looks like a nice place to sit and relax. Two chairs on the grass ... one for you and one for Dave maybe. Tony :-)
