Description

Painted in Painter, then textured in PhotoShop. Behind this image there is a story: I've been thinking a lot of how badly people can treat animals; and my thoughts have gone around the cultural behaviour toward animals. I'm afraid almost all cultures have cruel habits to treat, use animals. Bull fights, dog fights, rooster fights, fox hunting, cow and horse transportation, caged chicken - I think you can tell us about many other ways how some people cause pain to animals. WHAT IS IT WITH US PEOPLE? WE SHOULD BE CLEVER AND SENSITIVE CREATURES BUT WE ARE THE ONLY CREATURES WHO INTENTIONALLY HURT OTHER CREATURES - AND MANY TIMES JUST FOR FUN... I've been reading and unfortunately watching photos and videos how the one of the most beautiful dog races, the original Spanish Grey Hounds are treated... and EU does nothing, governments don't do anything to stop that cruelty. Private people try to save the poor dogs out of their horrible destiny but of course that is only a drop in the sea. I can't paint bad things, I really can't. So my mind has been working with this cultural problem, and that's why I painted something that has the vibrant strong and passionate aesthetics just like bull fights but in another way, dancing passionately for the pride and dignity of animals. This is my way to try to tell something. Not probably the most informative way but... If you're interested in how Spanish Greyhounds (Galgo) are abused you can make a search with Google. It might horrify and scare you though, be prepared. We people, human beings, should really act like humans - towards each other, and towards all creatures. Thanks for your interest. Thank you so much for your comment too! I wish you the best ever summer! Take good care of you and your animals.

Nice job and I agree. We can treat one another with the most malice. I hope the US doesn't go to war with Iran.

Ese toro es un peligro ante el vestido rojo. Ella esta mirando a otro sitio. Peligo, peligro.... parece una pelĂcula de Alfred Hitcock. Me gusta.

Love the colours in this, very explosive, real drama. I agree about cruelty to animals, guys come around here catching the rabbits to use as bait to train the grey hounds, its just horrible, sometimes you think if we vanished off the face of the planet it might be no bad thing for the rest of species that share this sphere with us. Again love the pic.

What a beautiful painting this and so powerful too. I love it but I also love your wise words. Yes it is indeed heartbraking to see what humans sometimes do to animals...even their own pets. I just wrote about one example, that I saw in Animal Planet, but I deleted it again. I just couldnt take my own written words.

Such a beautiful painting to illustrate concern over rightful shameful aspect of human existence. i'm afraid we are all guilty at some time or other in our lives. it is important to be reminded of this tendency in our nature. there are organizations that save and adopt out retired greyhounds. The are magnificent gentle creatures who sleep alot. ;)))

your painting has the soul of a Shaman, titta, someone who works with nature as one's love. It's a wonderful passionate dance with great dignity. Many kudos. And you've washed it in rippling undulating textures. A passionate work, singing with real humanity. Many thanks.

Being a die-hard animal rights proponent, I heartily concur...it just breaks my heart to see/hear/know of all the animal abuse in the world....and the sad thing is, it's never going to stop because there will always be cruel and heartless people....think I'll pass on knowing about the Spanish Greyhounds, but I'll keep them in my prayers Love the work here, and fave ! * "In a world older and more complete than ours, animals move finished and whole, gifted with extensions of the senses we have lost or never attained... living by voices we shall never hear. They are not brethren, they are not underlings. They are other nations caught with ourselves in the net of life and time...fellow prisoners of the splendor and travail of Life."

Pure energy, Titta! Yes, I agree. I've always been particularly revolted by vivisection (scientific experiments on animals). Take care, dear ....

"Just for fun" or "Just for sport" are frequently two of the most demeaning phrases we humans can use. You picture has both passion and purpose - a rare combination, but appreciated here. Mike
