Description

There you have it folks, the meaning behind the Thumbnail I used for the "Modern Living" project. For a start, both projects are intended to be a reflection on our specialized roles in today's society. That it seems like our existence is more and more an "out-of-this-world" experience. I can only hope that with "Hyper Reality" what apprears to be a StarGate is merely a symbolic representation of a common fictitious idea of our modern culture - it just so happens to be well suited for both projects. You could say that I was fascinated and somewhat influenced by the Bigger-Than-Life attribute of a modern American exposed in a book called "America" by the author, Jean Baudrillard. Very cool creation/work/scenery and the concept behind.
Jean Baudrillard is one of the most creative french sociologiste. He were hardly attacked by "traditional science activists" because his proposals postulate that we live not in reality but in a kind of illusion only shared and generate by the occidental culture. He did surely inspirate "Matrix" which is an extreme extrapolation of what said Baudrillard. His humour was also badly interpreted and take at the first degree to bring discredits to his work.
