When I was growing up, my dad had a regular bar built in our basement. The room was paneled and we had neon signs, mechanical bottle displays, and all the things the best bars in Cleveland might have had. The bar itself was bought from a very old and established place going out of business. It was made from highly polished and sealed logs with a mahogany top buffed to a fine shine. Even the stools were well padded with burgundy leather and backless as was the style in the late 40s and early 50s. One of the best memories was his swizzle stick collection. Everyone we knew would collect the most unusual ones from places they visited and there was a huge glass ice bucket filled with these colorful and varied treasures. This would have been a great addition to that collection. I love this well balanced shot!
