Description

so wake up, buddies.... When I was doing the pictures series about the carnival of cultures I got in contact with another photographer and after some hours of acting we decided to meet a local bar nearby for a few beers. When we left the main street of the carnival, we discovered these group of young men with their dogs and nearby a TREMENDOUS, I say a TREMENDOUS, mount of emptied beerbottles and sixpacks... Show it or not? I don`t know. Good bye and have a nice weekend!

It looks as if these youngsters have had a terrific time ! This is a wonderful street scene, superbly captured and it shows us that life is not a bed of roses for many people...Excellent work, my friend!

They maybe had one (or ten or twenty?) too many?? But what a great shot, a true street scene, really captures the day after the night before.

LOL! This is an awesome capture! They're definitely wasted, and those doggies are soo cute! They're probably thinking... "not this again"... The one guy to the far right looks wired and rather amused at what's going on.. hehe... a great captured expression!

Thanks for your comments! Showing a pic like this - showing or not? I don`t know.... This should seen as an contrapoint to the series before, not as an joke. But I was deeply teased by this moment they guy touched his dog, and I can see that these comrades have the same feelings and needs as we all..... Normally this is not my theme and when I am confronted by handicaped persons I try to help and to spend some money. Some days after this I was confronted with an old lady, maybe from Rumania or a country like this, who tried to get some money from the passengers. Her body was very heavy destroyed and handicaped. She was nearly unable to walk and covered with a big coat with a great hood so nobody could see her face. To see this poor human creature more crawling then walking between all those people with their fine clothes, their reactions, their fear against such a human was shocking! Some went back, others put their hands up as if they must fighting against a daemon... I will never forget this moment; I was shocked, too. For a moment I thought about medevial persons with Lepra an its hands.....

A wonderful image Wolfgang and yes it is a MUST to be shown, these young deadbeats as they are termed, have their rights in society as much as we do. One thing that strikes me here and nobody else has commented on yet, as down and out as they look, the dogs look well cared for, each of them is laid on one of the youths jackets, yet they lay on the bare concrete. The lads seem to look after the dogs first as they all look well fed, no skinny ribs sticking out which is a sure sign of neglect. So yes you decision to show was the correct one my friend. A sharp contrast to the big show of the Multi-cultral Festival, these lads have their own culture do they not? Superb capture and deservedly shown. Bravo!!!!!

Yes good to show this kind of shot, I see this often and as Jeff has said they always have well fed dogs and an abundance of beer. Yet I try to see two sides to things, I feel as I get older and having some personal experiences I try not to judge too soon without knowing peoples situations. Great capture Wolfgang, real life capture!!! Bravo!

Eine super Aufnahme, das ist das "Leben live". Die Jungs scheinen ja recht "breit" zu sein. Wirklich ein fantastisches Foto.

Brilliant observations by JeffG7BRJ. The dogs do seem to be well cared for. Must have been one hell of a night. The guy on the left may have thought he went to sleep with his arm around a babe, but only to wake up next to a dog. That happens sometimes! Excellent thought provoking composition.

An excellent photo of "real life" I think it is good to show how life is for some people, its not all roses and babies in pink! I work with people who have huge social difficulties and get to where they are for all sorts of reasons, I believe that being non judgemental is fundamental in life, but also in being honest in lifes portrayal. This is truly a superb capture.

What I find so interesting about this image is that these boys, even in their drunken state, very carefully spread out their coats and jackets, not just threw them on the ground, but spread them in a nice large circle, for their dogs to sleep on. Perhaps they are not totally worthless bums, after all. :) Quite a candid shot there.
