Description

I was home on leave and did not have a date. A neighbor sent me to see a girl from her church who let me browse through photographs of her friends. I made a “preference file” until I saw this one and put all the others away. She lived two houses away and I had a date! Two years and many letters and dates later on July 3rd 1952 she accepted my ring and two years after that on May 1st, 1954 we were married. We shared an enjoyment of photography back then and we continue to go out photographing. She is known as stringz in Renderosity. And that is why I posted this on the 58th year that I found her so that the world would know this, my love story.

That is truly touching, and this is a lovely photo. It's good to know that love really is timeless. Congratulations! And I honestly mean that.

What a nice picture. Congratulations. She was even prettier when I first met her in the early 70's. Mel

The back story --- My best friend (since we were 3) and I went out with our cameras to Shaker Lake (in Cleveland, OH) to take pictures. I saw the pine tree and climbed up into it and asked her to take my picture. The sun was low on the horizon, and as a joke,I said, “I’ll pretend I am looking into the future.” I don’t believe in the mystical, but I am so glad he picked out my picture.

And it is a touching story. And the mention of Shaker Lake brings back memories. I heard about it as a child. I will assume its near Shaker Height??? I lived in Bay Village for some time and moved to Westlake. Then all over the country but I'm going back to Cleveland at the end of this week with my grandson to visit family in Cleveland and Brooklyn.

This is a wonderful story and I am happy that you share this with us! Thank you! The picture is something timeless. The clothings of the females changeed a few times since this, but their eyes are the same.... Greetings and my best wishes to both of you.

You both are truly blessed - and the best thing is that you know about it!! Just a few hours ago we talked about you and guessed over ways to get you here (Banana boat? Balloon?). You see: We still have our illusions/dreams, too!!
