This image is for Mark and Harry who have both been feeling under the weather. Even if they are better by now I hope this cheers them! This is a single blossom from the only rose I own. It is a bush that was passed down from my husband's grandmother. If memory serves - the original bush was in Gramma's flowerbed in the 1970's. Everyone loves the smell of these roses. The fragrance is VERY intense. I've not found another rose to match the aroma. However, on the flip side, the thorns aren't just a few long barbs here and there, but rather the entire branch is literally coated with hundreds of small, sharp and spiny thorns. I suppose that is why the bush is still around and indestructible after all these years! Wouldn't it be great if we could acquire some of the resilient qualities of this rose - beauty, longevity and natural armor! Thanks so much for stopping by.
