It seems to be a miniature iris and would capture the imagination of a less grandiose painter than Monet or Van Gogh. Perhaps, an old Navy chief named Carpenter.

I must say it's one of the prettiest weeds I've seen Richard, I don't have any grass in my garden apart from in-between the flagstones on my drive. So I don't have much of a problem from weeds, most of the plants Pauline has are in big pots so quite easy to manage. We have a stip of soil about 30 feet long by 2 feet wide and that is our garden. Beautiful colourtones and textures in this, an excellent capture. Bravo!!!!!

One Man's weed is anothers Flower!!!! We used to have Bachelor Button's growing wild in the fields around Home... Mom always considered them a weed... We went to Calfornia to visit my Aunt and she was tying to grow them in her Flower garden With little luck.. If it grows wit out Help it's a weed if it won't grow no matter what it's a flower..... Excellent shot!!!

:-) Some people do call them weeds because they can become a pest. As you know I posted one just a while back, they are called Asiatic Dayflower. Yours seem to open more than mine do and mine appear darker in blue, beauty to me but I understand what you mean about them. I think the root system is where you have to get rid of them because it grows as much as three feet long. I just planted some in a flower box to make sure I have some next year, lol! Beautiful shot Richard, thanks for sharing yours!!!

Lovely bloom, I like these tiny ones also. You almost miss them they are so small but their vibrant blue-ness captures the eye~ Bloom looks like Asiatic Dayflower but leaves look like Blue-Eyed grass... idk lol

Who says its a weed? Who gets to decide these things? We have are rights, weed flowers of America unite! I could use a few weeds like that in my yard. All I get is the ones with tiny thistles and sandspurs, making going barefoot no joy!
