Description

The last of the "lurking" series, but there's more of Spotty to come. Love the shine on their nose on this one; frogs really do look like living gems sometimes. Of course they pee on you if you pick them up, so that's not so adorable. Postwork was just some contrast/color adjustment that took fucking forever but in the end didn't effect the picture, just enhanced it. Of course I cropped it but I always do that, can't trust myself to line it up perfectly every time. Here's Part 1 and Part 2 if you're interested. EDIT: not assuming gender in frogs anymore (because if you think about it, that just makes no fucking sense -- it's not like they can tell us what gender they are -- plus it's cissexist and binarist). sorry about that.

I commented on this elsewhere, but I'd love to comment here too. The full-size brings out the slight blue tint to it all, like it's a reflective shot; but what I like most is your POV, from underneath (a little) where we look up at the frog who seems to be emerging into a rather noble pause. Some of your frog shots look like the frogs were posing for Frog Weekly. They get very noble poses! (You pay them, right? I mean these are pros, right?) These are wonderful poses. The final touch in this shot is the mangled dried leaves at the bottom: They're contrast to the high grasses surrounding him. This is a lovely shot.
