Description
Got back home this evening from a trip around the northern highlands (Scotland). This shot is from the bit between Thurso and Durness. One word: Bleak. right in the middle of nowhere... absolutely crazy how remote the place is up there. Minus Wick and Thurso (which was the starting point of the trip) we didnt see a proper "Town" or even maybe a proper "Village" on the whole of the trip past Thurso all down the west coast to Ullapool. And that wasnt a bad thing! :)
Anyway - had some fun with Kat, a mate who was with me on the trip. There are another few of this "series" of roadside play-arounds to come - but i am off to france for two weeks on tuesday morning so only room for one more - will decide what that is tomorrow, if i get the chance. If not i'm back on the 22nd July a year older and probably with another 10 gigs of photos to sort through... =|

What a bleak, moody atmosphere you've captured here Rich. I love the DOF with the seemingly endless road continuing to a blur but Kat (I assume?) so clear and focused. This whole scene brings a feeling of lonliness to me?? A great capture and I can't wait to see more of these roadside shots too. Have a great time in France and don't get too drunk on your birthday (what date is it??) Hugs xx
