This I have seen, a fellow who owned the hardware store used to drive his into the lake off the beach and out for a bit then drive back by the astonished folks at the lakeshore. Excellent find.

An amphicar, my god !! I´m hunting these cars since I´ve got my camera 2 years ago! These cars were build in northern Berlin in a neighborhood called "Borsigwalde" in the early and mid - sixies. We could see them often in the Berlin seas and lakes in these days, but they were produced from the beginning for the american market as fun cars. They have two propellers at the backside and go into the water at a flat beach and back again. The last owners of them here are organized in a club, and at summer sundays the ride out like ducks - a dozen of them! I ever passed them or had no camera with me... Great snapshot! A really rare car! 5+
