Hi, I'm Marilyn.  I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile.  It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here.  I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends.  Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time.  Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!!  Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet.  You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long.  Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

Thanks for sharing this fine collage showing the tough side of nature. I like the one aimed directly at the sun, who needs filters! Hope conditions improve and the fires can be tamed. nice work.

Some intelligent person on the news the other night said our fire season is 2 months early and usually it is August and September when we get this many raging fires. He wondered, if the fires are so bad now, what will it be like during the end of summer. That's a no-brainer! It will be fantastic! There won't be anything left to burn by then!

I was looking at a fire map earlier today as well, wondering how close they were to you. Too close for comfort, obviously, if that's what the air is like! Yikes!

Yikes - I said to PJ on site mail last night that I cannot imagine how it must be to breathe that air. My eyes and throat starts burning just by looking at the images!!!! Good luck there Marilyn!!! :)

It seems you have a season for fires out there then, do you need a licence for the season like Duck shooting? I'm not poking fun at the serious side of this Marilyn its just the comment from PJ about the no-brainer news reporter. I sincerely hope you get some rain to douse those fires down, if I could divert some of ours over to you I would. I know my Pauline would find it very hard to cope with the smoke, she goes into coughing fits everytime the neighbours have a barbie. I really do feel for people over there with any type of chest problem. A nice storyboard report of the fire problems Marilyn, take care and stay safe. Excellent work. Bravo!!!!!

i really could`nt begin to imagine what this must be like to live and breath this smoke marilyn and like jeff i really do feel for you guys having to suffer this
jocko500
hope all be well with you and thanks for the report

1,400 fires going according to one report I read. Global warming on the march. We usually get the brush and wildfires down here in Southern Calif, but that is a mean and dirty situation going on up north. I understand the fire-fighting aircraft from all over the USA are battling the conflagrations. Anyway, stay inside, close all the vents and windows, wear goggles and a filter mask, and hunker down for the duration of this onslaught, Marilyn.

Hope all those wild fires stop...tame them down. Aloha
