My illustrator career started at a very young age, when I was commissioned to create book covers for a series of Star Trek books by an Italian publisher.
During the past 15 years, I have created hundreds of dazzling fantasy artworks and illustrations for all the major publishers in the United States. Amongst my clients you can find Lucas Arts, Marvel, DC, Penguin Books and many more. Occasionally, I have also worked for videogame companies as background and texture artist and also 3d animator. My style is very flexible, varying from ultra realistic to anime.
I have participated in several art shows both in Italy and the United States. My work can be seen on many book covers, often on news stands on magazine covers, comics books (Exalted, Hulk, Warlands, Street Fighter), trading card games (ShadowFist, Call of Cthulhu, WAR, World of Warcraft, A Game of Thrones CCG).
I live in central Florida (USA).

WOW! :) It's amazing what digital media can do, huh? :) Very interesting to see this comparison, thanks for posting it!

Can I say the original is already awesome?? In the canvas one I adore her mouth/lips and her eyes. Well, her whole face looks awesome on the original. I do like the re-painted one too of course... but it was gorgeous by default, so to speak! :-) Really, outstanding work! Johnnie...

Nice to see the original next to the digital revision. I say you are just great in both mediums!

As I was sure of, the painting was already worthing my maximum rate... The texture of skin and dress really got better, but I loved more the facial expression in the oil painting.. more dreaming.. Still so beautiful in both cases I couldn't choose between the two versions :) Compliments and compliments again!

simply amazing on both accounts, the thing that catches my eye first is the fairy and how intricate and beautiful the wings are in the second one, more fairy like I think than the first. thank you so much for sharing this!

Nice work on both of them! Thanks for posting this. I'm always interested in what's happening behind the scenes. More often than not I learn alot from seeing comparisons like this.

Thank you everybody for the compliments! Knowing my work is appreciated makes me fell better, especially after having spent 3 months working on this image.... eh eh. My wife prefers the original painting too... maybe because I gave the new digital version a resemblance to her face and I guess she's not too fond with it... ;)
