Description

Okay big deviation from any current project, but I was going over some of my older images and found this. Never posted it. It's from a while back. Figured what the hell, it's my heritage. Well, partly anyways. Inspired by Rob Roy, and stuff I read about Jacobites and such, I decided to do some old scotts. The tartans are real, they are a weathered MacKay and a weathered MacBain. My heritage is MacBain and from what I understand they were allied or under the MacKay clan under Clan Chatten (sp?) Anyways, the weathered tartans were tartans used to hunt in and the likes. Less garish and noticable amongst the heather and crags in the highlands. (Kilts are rarely or were rarely if ever seen in the lowlands.) Don't know if the blue Balmoral is accurate, as I don't know the history of that garment, but you see something similar in paintings of jacobites. Anyways, modeled everything you see save good ol' Mike 2. Dynamic plaid and guilles (sp?). Pain in the neck! Hope you like. Cheers Swidhelm
