BIO
For around 20 years I was a professional wedding and portrait photographer winning a couple of Kodak awards but turned to landscapes about a year ago in 2005.In my wedding days I shot on a Bronica 6 x 6 format but my camera now is a Nikon D100 and I feel that digital and Photoshop opened a whole mew world to us guy's and gals. I am based in the UK moving from the south to lancashire at the end of 2005.
So its now 2009..long time since I updated my bio.
Now shoot on a Nikon D200 and process my work through Photoshop CS3.
Been to a lot of places since moving north.Three times to Scotland..going again in September 2009.
Had a week in Snowdonia..brilliant place....cant say the same for the weather we had.Ventured down to Devon...been for a week in Northumbria..had a glorious week on the North Yorkshire coast.Walked miles around the lake district in Cumbria.
Been to west Yorkshire no end of times and that's just the places I can recall.
Tried and tried to improve my photography which if any one looks thru my gallery back to the early days may agree that it has come a long way.
So many places still to see in the UK.We must have some of the loveliest places on earth to photograph here..there will never be enough time.ÂÂ

This is very different, but in some ways I prefer it for its more 'realistic' attributes. Your last stunning painterly 'image'(!!)was unbeatable of its type, whereas this equally superb pic shows what it was actually like to be there. I'm not sure if I've expressed myself properly here, but never mind. They're both wonderful photos!

Apart from me loving the beauty of this Country to a point of obsession, and not often venturing into the photography gallery, I am so pleased to have seen this one. You have captured the very essence in this stunning image.

it would make a nice oil painting the the foreground wasn't in it. But it sort of tell a tale of the two boats i like the idea. over here the fishermen are looking for more money but if it were up to me i would hold back till they learned to clean up after. to me i see a very good photo lighting is just right and the background tops. it is also a sad picture, seen the boats have come to an end also sad to see the mess thats left behind after the fishermen. Question for you where is the Isle of Mull? again your photo is tops 5+

Beautiful color and detail---great foto!!

Hi decie, The Isle of Mull is just off the west coast of Scotland.Yes it is a shame that these beautiful objects have been left to rot.I didn't want to mention that side of it but due to the UK fishing industry being decimated it is a very sad reflection of our times that people who have probably had generations of families in the fishing industry suddenly find that the only thing to do with their boats is to abandon them. One of the vessels was called "Girl Claire" and I wondered who she was,a wife maybe or a daughter and wondered where she is now.If people want another shot of these boats I will put up the one with the third boat in it as it is hidden out of sight by the two boats in the foreground. The darkening of the sky and the heavy sea air feel is very evident in this lovely shot. The colors pick up the rain-day lighting and give this a great mood.

very awsome and thanks for sharing all that you knew it adds to the story they tell. Do not mourn these boats that took their crews out and brought them home again, they now rest and perhaps inspire others that they too can being journies and come home safe again.
