I think its anouther plot to confuse everyone - obviously they shot it into space with a giant slingshot thinking of the massive amounts of confusion it would cause when found. What a sense of humor!

I always thought that the majority of civilizations was visited by the extraterrestrial who were taken for gods coming from space and left vestiges of their stay. Like the pyramids, Aztec calendar, layouts of Nazca in Peru, etc. Denis
