Description

I took this yesterday, in an area here called Cades Cove, which is about a 30 mile drive from where we are, but a lot of that turns into mountain roads so it probably takes me about 45 minutes to get here, it was so cool up in the mountains that it felt like fall, had a few quick down pours of rain, but then it cleared up and turned into a beautiful day. I saw this deer by the side of the road so I pulled over, and quietly got out of my car, and got lucky because she never ran off, just keep eating so most of the time I couldn’t get a good shot because the grass area around her was so high, but it was thrill to be that close, I do not have a big zoom on my camera, so I am actually about that close to her. Hope you enjoy as much as I did taking these.

Cades Cove was once known as "Kate's Cove" after an Indian chief's wife. The Cove drew the Cherokee Nation back again and again by it's abundant wildlife and good hunting. Later, Cades Cove's wildlife drew European descent frontiersmen to make it their home. They and their offspring cleared the fertile valley floor and built farms to sustain them. The pioneer's families lived in Cades Cove for many generations before the cove became part of The Great Smoky Mountain National Park. Today, Cades Cove is still as full of wildlife as before but draws not hunters, but millions of Smokies visitors. Below is more information about Cades Cove if you are interested. if you are interested.

A slender head, long and narrow with big brown eyes, thin lithe legs and a squared body...a true treasure and design for survival. Stunning shot.

How lucky are you? These type incidents in the UK are as rare as rocking horse droppings and hens teeth combined. Superb capture Lynell. Bravo!!!!!

Super shot! You must have been very stealth to get so close. I can just imagine you slowly and quietly moving in on the deer.
