Description

I hope this is not too dark. I tried desperately to make it darker as it came out too bright. I also wanted to crop it, but I just could not find the way to make it look correct without loosing the feel of the image. I hope you enjoy! Thank you for coming to take a peek and for any comments or suggestion you may wish to leave! Also thank you for adding past images to your favorite, I am truly grateful! Please have a lovely day!

I think it's cropped perfectly, and it's not too dark on my calibrated monitor. Really nice shot!

Nice capture. I like the light levels. Enough dark to be mysterious, enough light to see details. Thanks for sharing. Lee

I have to say it ... I have a feeling you were being sized up to be mantis fodder! Great shot! And good that you are still alive to upload this photo!

I love the praying mantis. He's positioned so perfectly on the leaf. Wonderful macro.

I like the way that the right half of the picture becomes almost a "negative space". It is very dramatic as far as the way it comes out of left side and the depth of field adds to this. Your subject is, of course fantastic - I do get the feeling of something religious, something alien, pensive - so much wrapped up in a bug - well done.

Wow, great shot! These are magnificent creatures, and I know they are gentle to humans, but they sure do creep me out! Brrr! I'm glad I'm not their prey ...

This is perfect just as it is! The background adds so much to this portrait of the mantis! I don't think you could have cropped it, except for about an eighth of an inch at the top, LOL! In other words, good thing you didn't crop! These guys are one of the bugs I really like!

This is nicely done..the mantis looks as it should at home in its world. You left enough room to give it a world and sometimes that is better than a techincal very close macro with no surroundings. This is the mantis' home. Thanks so much for this photo.
