Description

It's Claude Nougaro paint on the wall where I took this pict! Claude Nougaro, son of Pierre Nougaro, french opera singer and of Liette Tellini, piano teacher and "premier prix de piano au Conservatoire". He was born in Toulouse 9th sept 1929. He love so much his native city and he gave to Toulouse a fantastic tribute with his famous song "Toulouse"! He died at 74 in Paris. His funerals was celebrated in Toulouse, in the "Basilique Saint-Cernin". Some of his ashes have been let upon the "Garonne". A public garden in Toulouse and a subway station wear today the name of "CLAUDE NOUGARO! And thank you very much for your comments on my previous upload:

Toulouse by Claude Nougaro Qu'il est loin mon pays, qu'il est loin Parfois au fond de moi se raniment L'eau verte du canal du Midi Et la brique rouge des Minimes O mon païs, ô Toulouse, ô Toulouse Je reprends l'avenue vers l'école Mon cartable est bourré de coups de poing Ici, si tu cognes, tu gagnes Ici, même les mémés aiment la castagne O mon païs, ô Toulouse Un torrent de cailloux roule dans ton accent Ta violence bouillone jusque dans tes violettes On se traite de con à peine qu'on se traite Il y a de l'orage dans l'air et pourtant L'église St-Sernin illumine le soir D'une fleur de corail que le soleil arrose Une fleur de corail que le soleil arrose C'est peut-être pour ça malgré ton rouge et noir C'est peut-être pour ça qu'on te dit Ville Rose Je revois ton pavé, ô ma cité gasconne Ton trottoir éventré sur les tuyaux du gaz Est-ce l'Espagne en toi qui pousse un peu sa corne Ou serait-ce dans tes tripes une bulle de jazz ? Voici le Capitole, j'y arrête mes pas Les tenors enrhumés tremblaient sous leurs ventouses J'entends encore l'écho de la voix de papa C'était en ce temps-là mon seul chanteur de blues Aujourd'hui, tes buildings grimpent haut A Blagnac, tes avions sont plus beaux Si l'un me ramène sur cette ville Pourrai-je encore y revoir ma pincée de tuiles O mon païs, ô Toulouse, ô Toulouse

Toulouse la ville rose...Nougaro beaucoup moins, en plus revendiqué de son vivant par les Italiens !!! j'ai jamais reop aimé...tous les goûts...Très belle photo à la...Janis's style !!! SE PLEN DIDE!!!

I love all the colors and the people going about their day and then there's this big portrait of this fall native son. What a tribute they pay. ANd you've captured it all so wonderfully. Sorry to hear you are a bit under the weather, hope you are feeling better.

C'est agréable quand une ville reconnaît un de c'est des fils célèbres et paie le tribut à lui comme ceci, c'est une droite et une chose correcte à faire.. Janiss excellent de prise.
