Nearing the end of a major repaint this massive Victorian engineering structure has featured in many films and images.My favorite is 39 Steps.

Fantastic image, an amazing sight. A bridge that I have always found very impressive and another fantastic acheivment of its time. I have never seen it for real. I also like the little island !

We don't yet know how long these iron bridges will last. Many are gone now in 150 years or so. They could have lasted longer as ruins but they had a more functional role and are quickly dismantled for scrap.
