Description
Was going for a simple scene, but getting the dof and lighting right were quite a challenge!
Linda's Lush Wheat was used.

Cool close-up Bruno! Photo real look and the Depth-of-Field is very like a camera. The colors are super. My usual perfectionist nit-picking: Maybe could benefit from some total black somewhere to add contrast and to set tonal context and tonal expectations? On a closer inspection, there doesn't seem to be a pure white either, so maybe just boost the contrast?). If this is a stand-alone image (as opposed to an "illustration of a concept" - e.g. meant as an "art piece"), you might consider providing a stronger Center-of-Interest. Right now I'd guess the most centered wheat head is it, but maybe emphasize that one with more contrast, a bright cloud behind, a God ray, or such? Nice work!

Funny, I experiment with dof right now too. This looks awesome Bruno, very very convincing. Part of it of course is the quality of Linda's plants. They allow things like this.

Outstanding realism!

I also tested with DOF in Vue and it's quite a pain to make it work as we want. Slow and tedious to make just right. On the other hand, DOF in PS using z-buffer from Vue is also a pain because of the low quality of the z-buffer image from Vue (the aliasing is horrible). So, I more or less gave up permanently of using DOF with Vue so I'm glad to see this image now. Very well done. It still has aliasing and some imprecisions in DOF but I think you achieved a quite good level nevertheless, considering what Vue can do. Well done! I also agree with most comments from jc.
