Description

This windmill is located on the grounds of Sanssouci Palace, in Potsdam, near Berlin, Germany. Sanssouci is the former summer palace of Frederick the Great, King of Prussia (1712-86). It is often counted among the German rivals of Versailles. It is said that Frederick was very fond of the Dutch and their windmills; therefore, he had this one built on the palace grounds.

I agree with Andrea, it is great to see where other people have been and the sights they have seen, I have not traveled far I didn't get a passport until I was 55 and the farthest I have been is to Paris and a short car trip to Bruge. So thanks for sharing your travels, via your gallery. You have some awesome images in it. This windmill is fantastic, I would love to go to Holland and explore one for myself, that is highly unlikely so thanks for sharing this one. Excellent capture. Bravo!!!!!
