Description

Did this last night with some modles found on a Sci-Fi site which were quite fantastic to work with. Only problem is getting the textures remapped and re-doing the lighting because they were 3DS files. Ah well, had fun. Hope you like it. -Mike

Looks good glad you liked our meshes hopefully you'll post more with them. One thing you may want to reduce the size of the Tie as it should be half that size. Cheers!

Hmm, half that size? Odd... Oh well, I didn't have anything to get the proportions straight with. This was a quick response, I just put that up like 15 minutes ago. Putting it all together only took a few hours, the rendering took ... Actually I don't know, I went to bed. :) Anyway, your site is great, I'm a big sci-fi fan (almost any sci-fi) and love playing around with various models and creating my own, designing scenes that can't exist. Such as Babylon 5 meets Lost in Space or whatnot. :) I'll upload some of that stuff tomorrow. Thanks for the tips and compliments. -Mike

The render set-up could use a good amount of work, especially since you put little or no effort into the models used. Didn't even bother to change the reflection problems either. tsk, tsk, tsk And since some of the models aren't even yours you had better credit the person who did make them.

Actually, I said quite plainly that I downloaded the modles from the 3D Sci-Fi Web Site. I don't know who specifically created the models. I said that I had to do a lot of things with them, because they were in 3DS format and I'm using TrueSpace. So a lot more was done than you're giving me credit for. But I didn't try to take credit for anything that I didn't do, by any means. As for the reflection problems, I didn't use reflection in the render, I added lens flares and lighting as an after-effect in Photoshop, so as to avoid said problems. Like I said, I didn't put this here as some kind of grand masterpiece, just as something for fun. So Chrono, do you have any CONSTRUCTIVE criticism? Look at some of my other pieces too, admitedly there isn't a lot there, but you can see some more at www.picturetrail.com/argent and give more enlightened opinions. But try to be more constructive. Okay?
