Description

Picture off the front porch, of our Dogwood tree, a few days after it began to bloom. Well got the whole family coming over today, to celebrate the 4th Independence Day, and me get one year older. Yippee !!! And they are doing the cooking, that is reason enough to celebrate LOL Hope you all have a nice and safe weekend.

you were born on the 4th of July? ("I'm a Yankee Doodle Dan-deeeee...") (ok, I just made myself look a million years old...) Well, hell, happy birthday about 8 million days late! The picture is nice because the flag is muted and therefore more gentle than it's usually portrayed (it's got a blueish shadow to it, reflective); and the dogwood—well you caught it in several states, the flowers in muted bluish-greens, then the flowers in sunlight yellows, then the fuzzy 'distant' flowers which always give trees a wonderful soft depth. (And there are some yellows in the background too...nice touch.) Then your sky is almost that of a print, a deep grayish-blue which makes it appear a bit like an Oriental print (to my eye at least), a delicate intuition on your part...I like that the flag is portrayed without the pillars & statues often surrounding flags (of many nations): Here it's reflective & quiet. A very sensitive shot, and hope it was a good day!
