Description
Imagine if you will....One crazed female driver, that would be me, taking her youngest daughter and 5 grandchildren to a festival to see the fireworks which are being held in a public park. Upon arrival to the park, one crazed female is being directed by a flag man to turn her car right, which sits very low to the ground by the way, into the grass to find an avalible place to park. Also picture in your mind that there are many other cars parked around the small lane through the grass that they allow you to drive on... on both sides.... there are also many, many trees. Just as the turn is made there is a mound of dirt and grass, which looks more like a mountain, sitting right in the middle of the grassy lane....behind is a string of traffic waiting to follow the crazed female into the parking area. I look at my daughter and say, "I'm not going to make it over that, it's too steep going up." Daughter Michelle tries to enlighten her mother saying, "Ahhh, you'll make it Mom." So the crazed female, that's me, begins pointing her wheels toward the high mound of dirt and starts driving up. Seconds later, the car is teetering from front to back, sitting on top of the mound of grass and dirt. I'm sitting there giving the car gas and of course, it's going no where.... my 12 year old grandson didn't help matters when he yells out, "Oh my god, people are looking at us!" and he scoots down in the seat. We sat there like a see saw for a few seconds when we see a lot of men and 1 woman coming toward us...in the mean time, the line of traffic behind us are laying on their horns and some are laughing and making fun of the crazed woman in the teetering car, that would be me. My daughter Michelle gets out of the car to help the people push me and a pick up truck somehow manages to squeeze through and almost hits her and the crowd of people there to help push me out. So, they begin to push and I'm giving the car gas, in drive and I'm still going no where, except now, the nice people that were trying to help me are shaking my car, some on the hood, some on the trunk and now my exhaust is stuck in the mound of dirt which by the way was somewhat wet because of the rain and dampness. So now I'm really stuck and my grandson is still worried about all the people looking at us.... Now everyone is in front of my car and telling me to put the car in reverse which I do... one says give it gas and I do.... the car breaks free and sends me flying in reverse, giving the man behind me just enough time to react and MOVE! LOL.... End of story? Not quite... I now had to go back out and cross the road to get to the other side where more parking was available but in order to do that I have yet one more grade to go up.... because now I am in a different place then when I entered. And again, I get stuck but this time, I manage to free myself but not before my daughter says, " Mom, your car sucks!"
Anyway, we did manage to see the festival, I got to listen to a very good band and the fireworks show was spectaular.... they are having it again tomorrow night with more fireworks and we are going.... but the crazed woman is NOT turning right...LOL... oh, my car is fine, no damage but I think it will be a long time before my grandson Zachary rides with this crazed red head again...LOL.

Wow and OMG! What a great story, and what a good read! My goodness, it almost sounds like something that could have happened to me, and I KNOW my daughter would also have said, "Mum, your car sucks"! Thank you so much for this entertainment!

This is why I traded my Chevelle 66 in on a pickup. This and bouncing ones head off the headliner while towing a rail trailer of bikes into the Mojave. You need air lifts like low riders have.

Now that's how the fourth of July is supose to be spent - memorably! When I see long writings like this, I have to talk myself into reading... Imagine having 20 uploads to look at, you have 30 minutes... They all have long writings...What do you do? Get stuck or turn around and come back later... I loved your story. I'm glad everything worked out for you... It also helps us remember when we were kids and our parents went through the same thing - lol

Hi Marcy.. well I'm glad to hear you got your fireworks after all. I didn't see a single one.. well.. actually.. I went into the bathroom, turned off the lights and flicked my Bic while waving it about.. Not nearly as good as the real thing...lol. Hope tonights trip doesn't leave you bermed again. Betting the teeter-totter car ride will be remembered for a long time..lol. Fun image above too.. Bravo and hugs with kisses from Dave :^)

LMAO!! I couldn't even imagine that. lol I am a person that even handle making people wait even when I am withdrawing money out of the ATM. Some reason I can feel them breathing down my neck so I always have everything out that I need to make it in extra speed time. Thank you for sharing your story I laughed the whole entire time. hugs
