BIO Hi, I am Gun Legler from Sweden. I live together with my cat Simon in a little village near Gothenburg On the outside I am old, but young inside :-) For so long I can remember, I have enjoyed expressing myself through any kind of art or craft. Until I was 40 I worked as a child psychologist and pre-school teacher, but after that I said goodbye to my profession and began studying at an art school. There I stayed for four years, mainly learning Graphic art (etching, dry needle and linoleum cut). I was a lousy oil painter, that medium did not fit me at all, watercolor I liked better. For many years I made collages of different kind, watercolor and textile. I grew up with a mother that sewed and a father that built violins, so I early fell in love with textures of many kinds. I have now abandoned making textile collages, but I realize that I work much in the same way with my computer art. I take a piece here and a piece there and try to make a whole of it. And I am madly in love with textures of all kinds, I can sit for hours just playing with different colors, textures and filters, making backgrounds just for fun (and for upcoming images). I work very much by intuition when I make an image, experimenting wildly with layers, textures, color and light. But the form is equally important, that�s what Graphic school taught me. I have seldom a clear inner image when I start creating, it is more a feeling I want to express. The process can be quite unconscious to me for a long time. The image gradually takes form, and become clearer to me. What I want with my images is to reach the feelings of the viewers, to make them look into their own inner being and respond in any way, regardless of which feeling is evoked.

I tried to get a message about this on my moms latest picture, but now I can't find it. But now I have her computer and can log in. Please email me if you want. Thanks to all. Dear Gun, how lovely it came out, it is just a lovely puppy from the horse riding school I went, they bought a new one.......her name is Donna.....we are still in grief, and we miss baloe badly, I thought I would not go for another dog, but let me tell you this...I made an appointment this morning for this afternoon for a new Labrador puppy....so I keep you inform...I can't wait if I am honest...pufffff......nothing compares with my old boy BALOE.....and the new one is not a replacement........I just need something to care about.......and I hope I fall in love with the new puppy...we have a name in mind already..it is a puppy boy a chocolate colour lovely Labrador pup from 8 weeks......I am so curious !!

Dear Gun Losing a dear beloved pet is always hard. It is almost like losing a child. Our own cat 'Painted Lady' is getting on in age and I cherish each day she is with us. Best wishes to to vlaaitje. Thank you gun for sharing. egmont

What an adorable little puppy! I love it! How kind of you to feel compassion for someone losing a pet. Most people don't understand how close you can get and how much you can really love them. Wonderful tribute! I am so happy that she is going to adopt another pet. How grand for BOTH of them!

your paint strokes and textures are quite soft and sensuous...you've given quiet love to the dog and to your friend. Soft and sensitive work, gun; and like your last image, your words are quite beautiful too. You spoke of giving when one is down...isn't that what you do when you're down? Each time a beloved pet reaches old age and moves on to the next stage of their life in another place and time, I swear I cannot go through this again. Each time I end up with another critter. Now I am watching my beloved Gracie Anne slowly wasting away from kidney disease. No one can replace her, just like no one has been able to replace any of the others. Each has it's own place in my heart. It amazes me that my heart can hold so much love. This puppy is gorgeous! It has such amazing markings on it! The portrait turned out perfect!
