Description

Nothing done to this apart from a bit of sky cropped off and resize. I put this in just to mshow you how close to the main road into Barrow-in-Furness the South Lakes Wildlife Park actually is, I think there is about fifty yards if that between the Dual Carriageway and the perimiter fence of the park. These two were having a bit of a stand off, the left hand one was grazing and every time it went towards the right hand one that one started to growl. I say growl because I don't know what else to call it, I know it frightened the baboons when it did it and they darted for cover, as you can see from the last one he was disturbed whilst up to something. Lol. Also take note of the Robin lower left on the stump. Both Alan and I were taking a couple of shots of the robin prior to this one and a couple of kids scared it off. I didn't realise it was in this shot until I got home. Thanks for stopping by for a look and for any comments you care to make. I hope those that celebrated the fourth had a good time and the head aches were not too heavy this morning.

I thought this was Africa! Well captured Jeff, sometimes you have better opportunities this way than we in Africa. Good pose and the flattened ears on the right hand one shows agitation.

How exciting to see this, Jeff! As good as being there with the bonus of not getting wet. I'm enjoying the visit you made on our behalf!

The compound you see top left the nearest to the road is the Lion Enclosure. I suppose they see all the cars go past and think meat in a can.

Lol "meat in a can", Jeff stop it! I remember you telling me about this bit of aggression between them but I wasn't as lucky I missed the moment! It certainly is a great shot showing the busy road including sign! so close I thought the same as Rockstrider, what if they got out onto the road? Mayhem!

I see the robin. he look small next to the rinos. cool shot as for artaddict2 comment of them getting on the road. One got out of the zoo close by here and the police shot it dead lol. big looking into that for i think it was a white rino too

Jeff, this is outstanding! I had to laugh loud! It is so funny to see your fine green UK landscape in the background and the highway with all that cars, it looks so strange! "Hey comrade, let`s change place... Why donĀ“t we do it on the road? The audience is much bigger......!" .............LOL I hope there is a fine new fence....
