Description
I had her posed for several weeks, as 50% Aiko originally.
For a long time I wasn't sure about adding a victim. The idea of the tear was there from the start and would give it a nice Buffyesc twist (as in the final of the second season when Buffy has no choice but to kill her boyfriend to save the world, again).
And then I saw the Jinn male character and I knew I had my victim. It really filled up the space nicely.
Backgrounds still puzzle me. I don't like prefab backdrops, too many pixels that are not mine. So a bamboo forest seemed fitting but at first it just didn't gel. A lot of work in photoshop fixed that, the whole image was a boatload of post work.
The lighting is a bit inspired by Rembrandt, just there where I need it. I like the fakeness of it. The main lightsource is there to illuminate the faces and is plausible I guess. The highlight and lack of color on the blades is totally fake. And the backgrounds main function is just to create a diagonal line to link the faces and cut the other diagonals.
I used depthmaps for separate depth of field work for the male, female and background in After Effects so the plane of focus didn't have to be perpendicular to the camera.

wow, I really like this one. I can see how she suffers by killing him, I wonder if they have been lovers and War pulled them both in different directions and now they had to fight each other.... Wonderful work. His expressions is great.

Nicely done... My compliments. There is a Japanese anime film called "Crying Freeman". The main character has been forced to become an assassin. Each time he kills he sheds tears for the victim. Daniel ; )
