Description

Hello ! Yesterday my gr.daughter and I were at the beach and we found this strange cadaver. YUCK, but we found it very interesting, because I couldnt really see what it was. Maybe you, my friends can help us here? It is about 110 cm = about 43-44 inches. It has loungs, no legs, teeth...?? Thanks for having a look and for your kind comments to yesterdays post. Have a lovely day. Here the weather is cloudy and more cool. It rained a little yesterday, so I thank my little gr. daughter for dancing the rain dance. ;-)

I don't know what it is either, but whatever it is, it's seen better days! A Chupacabra? Really? (What's a Chupacabra???) A fine shot of animal decay, Helle, and thanks for giving us all the different angles. Your museum experience really shows here. Many thanks. It's a fascinating & educational shot!

I am stunned! I have so little knowledge of the skeletal build of the water species that I won't dare a guess. thefixer could be correct? Excellent find.

Unfortunately, I don't know enough to guess, either, but it's a fascinating and bizarre thing, regardless. Good series of photos, too!

looks prehistoric ! very interesting whatever it is, thanks for showing us. I'm off up to Scotland in two weeks and we will be quite near Loch Ness, hope I find something similar and enormous, I would make lots of money from my pics lol.

I'm not positive because I'm only going on the conclusions drawn on what I observe. The eyes are on the side no noticable bone attachments for limbs, stout heavy mid-section and the mount has peg teeth and a shallow floor with rounded snout. I think a dolphin or porpoise makes a very good guess.

Well my dear, a posum by the teeth and the very long tail.

I am unable to give a precise answer in spite of the fact that I have a doctorate in antomy but this study dealt with primates… So as I would be inclined to agree with the above judgements, I would think interesting that you send your photos to the nearest Museum of Natural Science by email, and ask a vertebrate specialist about what kind of animal it is. They will certainly be very interested. Excellent capture anyway!
