Description

the muskrat river used to be used for the city's source of power. it divides the city into east and west. this shot was taken from pansy patch park, a 10 acre island park which is also in a valley. i walked up around the bend and came across two boys sitting in the rapids, it's fast but very shallow.

It makes one wonder what exactly happened, is the river lower now? It hardly looks like a giant but rather a mellow stream. Excellent subject material though like you have on display here. Great capture.

hi, in response to busi2ness' question, back in the late 1800's there used to be a dam upstream somewhere and my guess is they generated electicity probably using it. this river flows into the ottawa river about 3/4 of a mile downstream. the ottawa river is a big river and it is used in alot of my photo's, both summer and winter. thanks for asking.
