jock the reason they are being sold the myth on methanol is the government gets the tax of the gallon of diesel or gas it takes to make one gallon or less of methanol. they then get to tax methanol as fuel and collect double taxes and this is what its reaLLY ALL about! methanol and other fuels that take poor peoples food away is a myth and a death sentence to the poor has cause 100,000 around the world to die of starvation. this is only the beguining !!! cor-pirations and the need for greed!!1

The dark storm sky, with the yellow cornfield make for beautiful contrast!!
myquad
Fantastic contrast indeed. Great shot!

I don't know about the approaching storm, but this is as corny as Kansas in August! Love the side lighting and those dark and brooding clouds, Jock! I agree with you concerning ethanol. And, because of colon problems, I can't eat corn of any kind.
jocko500
Oh find out too that Missouri that grows a lot of corn can not build any plants there. the green people is stopping them. at lest that one man from that state told me last week. I heard no news on tv but then I do not trust the news anyway

Great photo, Jock! And symbolism.

A striking capture Jock, and perfect for your thoughts! It is wise to have a small stockpile in these uncertain times.

Fascinating story, Jock. Great shot with fabulous light.

A lot of corn seed comes from Monsanto with is genetically modified, i.e., GM corn. Rat's will die from it and much GM corn, I've read, is in our regular food supply and the government DOES NOT mandate that food containing GM be labeled as such. Guess who runs the US government. "We the people" don't. And I've also read the story about how using food for fuel is causing world-wide starvation. Thanks for the photo and commentary Jock.

In the community I grew up in farmers grew "field corn" mostly to feed to hogs. They left it in the field until it completely dried so it would not mold when it was stored. Sweet corn was grown in gardens and I used to sell it door to door when we had surplus. Knee high by the fourth of July was one saying about how it grew. This looks like a Halloween field. Sometimes farmers harvested the shucks as fodder.

Great light here, Jock!

A wonderful capture and commentary to match, Jock. Being a former Texas boy, I'll also keep some ammo on hand along with spare vittles.

excellent contrast between light and the dark storm.it looked like we could have some rain tonight but I doubt it. the ones wanting corn to be used as a fuel additive are owners of farms and production of ethanol
ledwolorz
Fantastic capture.

A fantastic shot Jocko. The sky looks ominious and I like the late sun on the trees. I agree with you on the ethanol issue completely. Not only does it take a lot of energy to plant and harvest,(because nobody is doing it by hand) corn uses a tremendous amout of water to grow, and every state has water problems. Ethanol also doesn't produce as much bang for your buck as regular gasoline does, it raises food prices - and pollutes!!!!

The corn contrasts very well with the blue clouds, lovely view. As for the methanol, as far as I am concerned: I have my doubts too, sad to say.
