I do not believe this was acheived by scientific means. I believe there was magic involved! There was a sprinkle of fairy dust on the space ship, a dash of butterfly wing on the instrument panel, and a swirl of the wizard's wand over it all. And that is how the probe ship and it's instruments made it's journey and observations in safety. Fabulous work!
