I'm a retired french art teacher and one of my hobby is to work on my computer to make 3D models : old cars, trucks, planes, buildings and so on.
My other hobbies? Playing blues or rock'n roll with my friends, trekking, visiting museums and famous places all around the world, reading good books!
My 3D models are available on RR in a store called 3DClassics.
You can see images made with my models here:

it may not be what you actually wanted to achieve, but this is impressive. fantastic realism and detail and the glass shelves are great. 5++++

Overlays... Ya gotta make over lays... It can be time consuming, or, you could wait 3 days for your render to complete and find out there was not enough memory - lol I noticed the car on top - that's my baby... I owned two 66 Mustangs... Gas guzzlers I tell ya... They're like your alchoholics of cars, they just can't drink enough - lol Display case looks good, but the bottem shelve looks like some kids found the case... You did all these cars? Cool. Still haven't been able to load the chevy into poser... I'm playing with files this last week, came across them, but they just don't want to find poser... I found my favorite car the other day... I'll have to upload it in a few weeks.

I would have made them all to the same scale. (The Catterham L-7 is not the same length of the 64 Mustang even on the same width shelf.) I look up their length, width, height and track front and rear to put them into Poser compared to 68 inches. Even the best don't have the eye for scale I find in cross examination. I see them all as samples of success in digital modelling and not toys in the way of AMT or JoHAN. They really have zero material reality. There is absolutely no 1 on 1 correlation with real full size objects and never has to be. I am still working on what the correlation to intellectual description is. Obviously if a plastic extruded car can be made to look like a steel stamped one by a 1 on 1 relation to blue prints in specification it isn't a quality of a specific material. Hand-eye is the totality of these and that is nerve. They are human reality and that is wonderful, just a bit frightening at times.

Beautiful image. I love the bursts of color and the subtle shades in the glass. I know DE's work, maybe PC's are not to the point where they can technically mimic the subtleties of airbrush, but this is wonderful in it's own right.

This image takes me back to St. Martin's Lane in London and the flea market at Clignancourt in Paris where i spotted old Gorgi and Dinky diecast cars displayed much like this. Congrats to both, fantastic idea indeed.

Formidable!
