Description


Loch Sheil Loch Sheil is the fourth longest loch in Scotland and in 1745 Bonnie Prince Charlie sailed up the loch and raised his standard at the beginning of the Jacobite rebellion.The monument in the foreground was built in 1815 to commemorate this event in history.

There is a very special atmosphere around Glenfinnan and you've managed to catch it well. I've had my eye on the hill to the left (Sgurr Ghiubhsachain) for some time now, its supposed to be a brilliant ridge walk...ahhh some day! I'd have cooled down the saturation slightly, but wonderful shot none the less.

Actually the story behind this was that there is a viaduct in the other direction and I had set out to photograph a steam train coming across it.Got stuck behind a caravan and the train got there early and I got there two minutes late.Win some lose some I guess
