Description

Point Roadnight, Anglesea, Australia at dawn shot on a pentax 645, Veleia 100, and scanned on an epson v700. I like the colour in this shot but would have prefered to have had a split neutral density filter to hold back the sky.

Amazing colours, the sky still manages to hold its own without the filter, nice photography.

Thanks for the comments guy's, a "split neutral density filter" is a filter that is darker on one half than on the other by a pre-determined number of stops towards the center. By covering up the brightest part of the scene, normally the sky, with the dark section of the filter the image as a whole becomes better balanced in terms of exposure so you don't lose shadow and highlight detail.
