Description

This is a representation of an incident that happened in 1990 in Charlotte, North Carolina. Three gang members attended a sporting event, bringing along their guns. One fellow bumped into another one. The bumped man was so quick to anger that he shot the fellow who bumped into him in the foot. The third gang member was in a different location, but close enough to hear the gun shots. In a panic, he assumed the shots were directed at him and fired blindly into the crowd, killing a child in the process. I thought this little story represented the dangers of fear and how it can make us do bad things, whether as individuals or as nations.

it's not fear, it's stupidity> they need to take every gangbanger off the streets, and commit them to a mental ward. I hate them> Seriously. I lived with them in chicago and colorado. Worthless pieces of trash.

But surely it's their right to carry a gun in the first place for self protection..... Nice idea.

@dlblue: Nobody is born as a "gangbanger" and who defines "worth"? You, your government or the corporations who exploit us? Every human bein has a right to live and is a worth in him or herself. Period. Go for the social circumstances and fight the reasons for poverty and crime instead of fightin the poor. Great message, Ed.

Yes, I agree. I'd go further and say Authority harnesses fear and few of us can get through life without experiencing that kind of pressure at some time. Look at Zimbabwe right now.
