Description

Over the week-end of July 5/6 2008, the pine-clad hill-sides of the Belgian Ardennes echoed to the sounds of motor racing’s past. 106 years before, almost to the day, the Automobile Club de Belgique created circuit racing, holding a race that began and ended in Bastogne and passed through Neufchâteau and Habay-la-Neuve. 550 old-timers participated to the "Circuit des Ardennes" 2008... So, I have a full card of pictures... Although I think I will upload them... "elsewhere" ... this Stanley 1912 (Mr. Michel Beuvens) will be my last here in this series . Super pic, with the cows behind. It reminds me of that Larson 'Far Side' cartoon where the cowws all stand around on their hind legs chatting and only graze when a car is passing!

I had a model of a Stanley "Steamer" when I was kid. It fascinated me that a car could be run off of steam power. Thanks for this wonderful reminder of my youth and cool photo, Michel!
