Description

This structure is known as the "White House." It is located in Canyon de Chelly, Arizona. These cliff dwellings are where the Anasazi indians lived some 1000 years ago. Notice the petroglyphs (stone and rock markings and writings) in the bottom center of the picture. Perhaps a 20-minute drive from the "White House" is Spider Rock, as seen close to sunset in the capture below. thumb_1682138.jpg

Oh this is wonderful! Thank you for sharing this! I have always loved ancient history, of all cultures and places. I have always had a fascination for these people and this place. As well as the Aztecs, Inca's, the Olmecs. People who have disappeared through the veil of time because of mystery or war, are so interesting! A beautiful photo! Thanks Again! Lea

The imenseness and compexity of this place cannot be fully appreciated in this capture, although the capture is an excellent one, I feel perhaps another shot from further back so as to give a sense of scale could have been included. A fantastic image none the less. Bravo!!!!!5+++++
