Description

My parents owned six cylinder station wagons from 1957 until 1962 while I was in the evaluation process with transportation. Wealthier people took me to the air-cooled radial. They showed me flying. I took the six cylinder badge off the front of the hood of a parts car I was given and put it on my own V-8 coupe. Years later someone asked in a very iritated tone why my car had a six cylinder emblem. My swimming pool was dug by a backhoe mounted on a customade six cylinder chassis. Honor they father and mother.

Remember It's what's under the hood than what's on it. Off to the Cleveland Air Races.

Somebody else got bit by the retro bug? Also I'd tell pakled that a prop is a cylinder with a wing airfoil sticking out of it given a twist by a rotate with magnet, then split in half and a duplicate glued back together. But I'm not sure how much that info would help here.

Hardly any room for the pilot with all that engine taking up most of the fuselage. Amazing machine well modelled!

There will always be complainers in life unfortunately... that person should take a chill pill and not worry about th little things in life. but anyways, glad you were able to take to the skies with the friendlier atmosphere above. and about the pool, I had a dough-boy before [above ground pool] when I was a kid just had to be careful of not being to rambunctious lol - nice one Dale

Good heavens, the lady is a nice touch, but where is Jimmy Doolittle? I love this racer with its struts, wires, vents and flanges. I can just picture it zooming around the pylon! Cool bit of modelling, T!

When I was a young driver, my preference was for boxer fours. But in-line sixes and v-8s have their charms too. Excellent render.

There were a lot of experimentals in the 20's and 30's some good...some not so good. Reliable high power engines and airframes that could take the stresses were in their infancy and it is the pilot that flew these beasts I salute.

Interesting image and narrative. I am a fan of the six, more specifically the in-line six, with variable valve intake and exhaust timing, direct fuel injection and twin turbo BMW!!! My first car was a straight 8 Buick Yankee car (I lived in Canada)!!
