Description

To paraphrase the title of comedy by Tennessee Williams, ”Cat on a Hot Tin Roof”, I called this image "Cactus on a Hot Tin Roof”! From few years, I have moved to live in a small village of hill a few kilometers from Catania. Yesterday morning, to achieve faster the centre of the country, I took a narrow street surrounded by old houses ... I look up and behold that a small and stunded cactus, prickly pear, strikes me the eye! What is there to make a cactus on the channels of an old house, among rusty gutters, old mouldy walls and wire of light? Maybe a seed carried by the wind taked above, accomplice also of Etna volcanic sand deposited on the roofs ... it's very fertile! Here is another evidence of "Green Power"! :) Have a great week-end!

Excellent find and excellent shot! Loved the play on words! Yes the volcanic ash does wonders for things and some beautiful glass things are made from it!
