So you're a Skelly Girl. I see the Auburn you used once before and now a Packard Hawk has appeared. Two great designers there. Buehrig and Loewy. Or did Buehrig only do the Cord? Another one on the coke bottle and Evie's is a beehive of great design.

I don't know why they still call themselves Service Stations. 30 years ago they actually provided some service.. washed windows, checked the oil, water and tire pressure.. and filled your tank. Today they should be called "We got you by the short hairs.. now payup or else... stations". And you have to pay for the Air and Water most places too! As for myself, I never get tired of hearing folks complain about the high cost of gasoline.. because it's the squeaky wheel that gets oiled first. Great image you created here Evie. Bravo and hugs from Dave :^)

$1.29 a gallon? I can remember when gas went for 55 cents a gallon. And that was an Imperial Gallon which is 20% more than a US Gallon. Though, it was 7 cents to post a letter in Canada once upon a time too. Wow! How I'd love to grab a Coke from that machine in the background, 10 cents a bottle it used to be. This is what I would spend my allowance on.

I love the Studebaker hawk on the bottom right Evie.excellent composition.in 1970 I drove nearly 900 miles to Mexico and there was a gas war in Texas.I seen it as low as 20 cents per gallon.my gas cost $12.56 and still had a 1/2 tank at my destination two friends had gas stations across the street from one another.all went fine until one dropped the price.the other followed suit and finally one put a sign up 1 cent gas per gallon. the other one put a sign "free gas".a man pulls in and says fill it up. the owner hands the man a dime and tells him to cross the street to fill up

I used to get a gas when gas prices made sense ! When I was a teen I would fill up my wheels for 37 cents a gallon and the gas attendent (jockey in cool talk ) washed my windows. Now I got aches and pains all over the place and I pay $1.47 a litre. Man life ain't a gas anymore. I really love what you did here Evie ! Excellent work..............George

Don't laugh, the best part "Free Air" you don't get free air anymore, it's 25 cents a pop. And a nickel stamp yep remember those too, and even remember thinkign that gas was too high when it went over a dollar... Smiles... great memory trip Evie...
