Description

I grow these. This 2:00AM shot of my flower that is 12in. across(no lie) and blooms after dark in June off of a "pinky" sized climbing cactus that is visible in the center above the bloom. The bud is a foot long also and as the sun comes up- it goes down--all that for 10 hours of scented GLORY. Thought you might like to see it-i dont know its name. I was standing on my wall in the maple-camera in one hand and flashlight in the other.

This isnt a macro-bro... it would barey fit on a 19in. monitor! The zoom is actually SMALLER than actual sizE of the bloom!!!!

I saw this last night, but we were in John's account, so I couldn't comment. My jaw dropped bigtime- which is no great feat these days, since gravity is taking force with a vengeance! But, honestly Bob, this is breathtakingly beautiful. Like hubby indicated, well worth the trouble to catch it in glorious bloom. Excellent shot!

Gorgeous shot! I have a cactus that only blooms at night with a similar looking bloom with pinkish colorations. My cactus gets HUGE and looks similar to an organ pipe cactus.
