Description

This is one of "my" larvas fromthe Smerinthus ocellata that I post last days. The right one will skin the old dermis in a few hours/days and the left one did this a short time before I take the picture. They are about 4 cm long and become much larger in the next days. I must feed them twice a day, because the only two things they´re interested in is eat and take a rest. Hope you like and understand my weird english. Thank you for taking time to look at my pictures and comment/rate them. Greetings.

I think I am hung up on the fact your feeding them besides whatever they are gnawing off that plant. Wonderful image capturing the look and feel of the larvas

Great shot of these wonderful caterpillars. I really enjoy your pics. I have been doing a lot of reading about the Nikon D40x. I am still trying to decide on what lens I need and if I can afford the expense of both new camera and lens. Are you happy with the D40 and what lens do you use? I have been feeding 14 Io Moth larvae for more than month. It reached a point where I was having to replenish the food three times a day. They finally all stopped eating and the last of them formed their cocoon just yesterday. I will post images when they emerge. Mine ate and pooped and ate and pooped and ate some more, lol. I am not sure they even rested except when they molted each time. Lee
