Description

Laguna de Arenal is the largest lake in Costa Rica and is located northeast of the Cordillera de Tileran visible in the distance. It was formed when a dam was built in 1973 across the Rio Arenal. This reservoir supplies water for Guanacaste and hydroelectricity for the region. It also provides recreational opportunities for sailing, wind surfing, and sport fishing. This looks like my sort of lake Sig, the two boats give a good sense of scale to the image, the ferry/tour bus and the two men fishing at far right. I have only fished a couple of times from a vessel and that was a flat bottomed punt on a lake near Welshpool, UK. That was only a tiny lake that would fit into one corner of this one. I would love to do a spot of trolling on this. You also managed to capture a wonderful atmosphere, a serene and tranquil place, or so it looks. The lighting just adding to the image. Stunning! Bravo!!!!!
