Description

You're looking at the side of a lost obelisk. This side is about 5 meters high. I am not aware of the length of the obelisk, but I guess it should be around 30 meters. The Egyptians made obelisks by knocking a hard ball into the granite rock (you can see the grooves here) and when they reached the size of the side of the obelisk they start knocking the ball under the obelisk. Afterwards they placed beams of wood under the obelisk, they filled everything with water, the wooden beams where uplifted by the water and the obelisk breaks of the rock. Amazing!

This is a view not given to us in such detail in books or shows. Kudos! BTW, the stone balls used as hammers were dolorite, harder than granite.
