Description
I've never been on so much medication in all me puff.
I've ones for the pain, I've got ones for the really bad pain, I've got ones to help the inflamation and of course the antibiotics.
I've got ones to help my stomach after taking all these pills, but these ones are causing some record breaking botty-coughs and I like these ones the best.
Thats three weeks now since it happened and I've still got at least another three weeks with this leg brace on. The doctor says I should be back on my feet properly by September.
One stupid lunge for the ball during beach volley, and we didn't even win the point.
Theres' me, a couple of hours later, in an operating theatre in hospital in Antalya in Turkey, getting me butt cut open, a titanium anchor screwed into my pelvis and the hamstring muscles (all three of them mind) sutcherd onto the anchor. They also stiched my adductor muscles back together.
I was of course concsious through the whole op....lovely
My right leg now feels about as useful as an ashtray on a motor bike.
The next time someone huffs at the thought of going hillwalking because ...its dangerous ...is going to get the pointy end of my crutch right in theirs.
I hoping I'll be back hillwalking by next year at some point, ...I'll never play beach volley again.
My wife can now hide the chocolate out of reach, this must be one of the worst things about being as immobile as this.
She took the stitches out me butt at the weekend (shes an ICU nurse) which was eh... a laugh.
I was able to shout and scream and bite the pillow and curse and wail with every stitch in a way that I'd never get away with in the hospital!
Now I feel like a bit of a school teacher...a pain in the butt and off all summer!
LoL.
Thanks for listening to my grumbles!

Climmbing all those hills getting injured falling on the sand... I don't understand exactly what you broke, but I hope you'll soon be better. I hope you also have good books and good music near at hand. No whisky, because antibiotics... Courage !

Despite the discomfort you are experiencing that's a great photo! Nonetheless, I hope you have a swift recovery and can go hillwalking again soon.

OUCH!!! Hoping that by now you're back to hill climbing! You were awake during the operation? Ewww...hope they gave you good local anesthesia! Yes, beach volleyball can be dangerous! One of the players over here in the National Football League had his career ended while playing beach volleyball while on vacation.
