Description

Rome seems popular so here is another. The inner workings of the Colloseum. for those who thought it was just a little Soccer stadium you are so wrong. The behind the scenes stuff under and around that stadium would put to shame some of our better stage setups today. They could have people and things appear and dissapear from many places like magic. They could even fill it with water and stage synchronised swimming err I mean ship battles :). And yes, it's another rain shot hence the shortage of expected crowds. My camera packed up twice that day from water getting into it

Wow - Martin - this is indeed a building masterpiece! When I look at ancient architecture, I always think that those folks can rub shoulders with the best of the best in our modern times, taking there limited resources into account! Keep the Rome (Italy) images coming!!!!! :)

Great wide-angle photo of the Colosseum; the bridge to the stage is not always there and the rain -- usually none of these can be regarded as good, but you made advantage from both of them.

Architecturally, this is one of my favorite structures in the world and you got a very good shot of it. Great POV. Sorry to hear about the camera though, lol.
