Description

Here is a look at the hollyhocks from the old farmhouse I am helping to re-model. We found a coin in the wall (1838) and I am sure by the condition of it it was not far from new when it was lost. Thank you for looking and for any comments. They all are very much appreciated. -GB-

Love hollyhocks! Super capture with the dewdrops as well! I was enjoying the bush across the street but I woke up last Friday to find that painters had come and cut the whole bush down:-( Excellent find of the coin! I wonder what story is behind that coin in the wall!

Wow! That's a treasure you found in that coin!! Wow! I would love to see it! Can you post it??? :) The hollyhocks are gorgeous; I planted some this spring and they are doing beautifully. Severe storms tried knocking it down a few times, but now i have it tied with string, to help hold them up. :)

I have done extensive remodeling work on 3 of my own homes (rentals I lived in) and in tearing out floors and walls I have found great things. Even just digging up the yard to plant new grass of put in a flowerbed can yield the most marvelous treasures! But here, not only did you find a treasure in a wall, but you found one in the yard as well. This is a fabulous hollyhock!

Remember the beautiful ones Mom used to have outside the kitchen windows? Also how carefully she and/or Dad would harvest the seeds to plant the following Spring? Great shot, lil bro!
