Description

This part of Ireland (Achill Island) was considered to be the spiritual home of Louis MacNeice 1907 -1963 my favourite Poet. His father was born in this part of Ireland, and much of his career success was due to a generous lady who admired his work who came from the region. In my forthcoming trip to Ireland it is a place I plan to visit again.. Perhaps for me his greatest poem "Prayer before Birth", written long before the troubles of today I find so strangely prophetic it beggars belief.. http://www.artofeurope.com/macneice/mac1.htm Thanks for taking time to view and any comments you care to make

Lovely capture. Though to me seems very desolate. Perhaps the isolation could be a good venue to get in sync with your inner muse though.

Such a beautiful landscape, Danny. I surprised myself that I so enjoyed the landscape of Cornwall and your landscapes of Ireland, when I usually prefer wooded areas to land barren of trees. A lovely image and a poignant poem, so applicable, especially now.
