Description

On the occasion of another Farnborough Air Show I will make a couple of observations. The Gulfstream 550 has a range that is absolutely amazing compared to a DC-9-10 with essentially the same configuration. The Predator UAV has a endurance that is amazing compared to a Cessna "Birddog". Other than that in the spirit of the Defence White Paper I am pleased to be preparing to retire from the builder and developer of the Bomarc, Minuteman and the first stage of the Appollo Saturn V. I like pictures of airplanes landing successfully. That's what this image is.

Great render of the 'Thud'. One of my all-time favorites. Used to watch them take off and land in Korat RTAF and an occassional damaged one land at DaNangAB!!!!

oh yeah...had a book about the Thud once, over Vietnam. Was incredibly heavy for it's day, but could take a lot of punishment. Keep 'em coming.

Always liked the Republic F-105 Thunderchief, which served in Vietnam, and here we have a great concept depicting two of them landing on strips with their ribbon chutes deployed.

There are two things that do a pilot no good. Runway behind you and airspace above you. "Thud" the sound of speed on the deck.

I think the best part of being at Farnborough air show, is that your this close to the runway. Oh and of course, the bacon on a bun was really good too. Sweet render and landing, nice work once again!

Love the old "Thud." I built at least two models of this fine fighter-bomber when I was a kid. Cool landing image.

Nice work on this pair of F-105's. Would be good to see some of these old warplanes on display at Farnborough one day.
